Tanning bed "acrylics" are the clear or frosted plastic shields you lay down upon when using an indoor tanning bed.
Acrylics are also utilized in upright and vertical stand up tanning booths
to protect the lamps and customers from each other. Tanning
acrylics are generally clear but there is a "frosted"
acrylic produced by some tanning bed manufacturers which
give the tanning equipment a newer look.
Acrylics can be curved, contoured, or shaped to fit the bench or canopy of a tanning bed and can range in cost from $175 for a 20 minute bed to $1900 for some of the
most expensive
tanning beds like the ETS Sunscape 755 tanning bed pictured
below.

The
concept of frosted acrylic is an interesting one and
perhaps a great
differentiator if you are in a
competitive environment; however, they reduce lamp
effectiveness by 20-30% so keep that in mind when buying
replacement lamps. A very important maintenance fact: a
dirty acrylic can also reduce lamp efficiency by 20-50%, so plan to
clean the inside of your acrylics on a monthly schedule. The
